So since it says it's due May 16th we can reasonably assume it will come out early 2017.

Why on earth did they announce something like this before all the delays were over?

They should be focusing on getting the rest of the main trades out first. The Dawn of X one was supposed to be out almost a year ago I think.

Well, now, looks like we can't expect the comic to come back until after May 2016

That is pure speculation Mavrick and you know it.

New trades come out of all the time. And for Mega Man, Volumes 1—3 are Sold Out/Out of Print. BTW those three trades also collect the first year of Mega Man comics in a similar means to what IDW has done with their omnibus editions in a size similar to it as well.

You could very well be right, and we won't be seeing it back until after May 2016. Or for all we know the hiatus will end in March of 2016. We just don't know.

Eh, I'd rather it be a Hardcover. Still would like to get it though.

This. Seriously, that's around 300 pages. A hardcover would make sense.

As a Archie Mega Man fan, I would love these as big hardcover books that sit nicely on a shelf. 300 page books aren't generally known for quality if like Select/Manga/Archive sized.

Speaking of which, what are the sizes for these books?

On another note, I hope these ''Master Edition'' books become a common thing for Archie, maybe even going to Archie Sonic. Although I'm worried these will use the crappy low quality paper that Archie's switched to for GNs. Having that kind of low quality paper for a massive 300 page collection just wouldn't work out.

I assume it's gonna be the size of your average manga book as opposed to full comic size.

It's probably going to be around the same size as the Sonic Archive books.

So assuming we get more than one volume of this and that they'll be skipping the Sonic crossovers, this is what the lineup would be like.

Volume 1: Issues 1-12 (Let the Games Begin, Time Keeps Slipping, and The Return of Dr. Wily)
Volume 2: Issues 13-23 and 28 (Spiritus Ex Machina, Prototype, Roll With It, Rock of Ages, Countdown, Cold Crush, For the Bot Who Has Everything, and The Return)
Volume 3: Issues 29-40 (The Curse of Ra Moon, Unplugged, Shadow of Ra Moon, A Chance at Redemption, Dawn of X)
Volume 4: Issues 41-49 and 53-55 (Legends of the Blue Bomber, The Ultimate Betrayal, Prisoners of War, Whatever the last three issues are going to be called)

That's an even 12 issues for each volume.

Or to put it more simply, each "Master Edition" will contain 3 of the original Mega Man graphic novels, hopefully with their respective special features intact. Sort of like how manga companies have started doing their big ol' "3-volume" releases of former individual volumes.

Master Edition Volume 1 (Mega Man graphic novels 1-3)
Master Edition Volume 2 (Mega Man graphic novels 4-6)
Master Edition Volume 3 (Mega Man graphic novels 7-9)
Master Edition Volume 4 (Mega Man graphic novels 10-12)
