Dr. lalinde and lara su?

Postby Mavrickindigo » Sat Mar 14, 2015 11:08 pm

I'm reading through the Mega Man Knowledge Base and it claims that Ian Flynn based Dr. Lalinde on a real-life person, who was also the inspiration for Lara-Su

I have never heard of this before. Anyone else?

I'm rather doubtful of that.

The wikia is so vague it borders on inaccurate.

Dr. Noele LaLinde gets her name from a friend of mine, who is Filipina. She's a Mega Man fan, so when creating the character, I asked her permission to name the character after her. That's the long and short of it.

Now we just need someone to go forth and edit the entry accordingly...

Annnnd now it says that she's "designed after" said person. So much for accuracy.

Might I ask how to pronounce Lalinde?

I'll just copy-paste a response from Lea after searching through old topics:

No, in this case it is "lah-LIN-deh." "Lind" or "lihnd" would be more of a French pronunciation as opposed to Spanish.

Good to know I was pronouncing her name correctly…I used to call her “lah-lan-deh” back then because I never looked at her name closely until I tried typing her name.

When Lalinde made her appearance I actually thought her name was based on Lara su or some other female Echidna (I still can't keep track of all the li's and su's and da's and whatever). Which is really silly since the only connection is like, what, both starting with "la" and having a purple/pinkish color?
