Common Archie, you can do better than that. That or somebody cranked up the brightness level for the linework too high in photoshop. |
Same problem here, actually. I brushed it off in the excitement of reading the book, but it is pretty bad. Odd that it's just those two pages too, and they weren't even printed on the same page (normally if one side of a page is off, it's 'sister' on the other side of the fold is screwy too).
Bad working files? |

To add onto Dimitri's summary on the previous page, it looks like the robots that attack Ray and Vector are the Winged-Dingoes from the Tails Mini-series and SU #3.
As well as the one above, here's a scan of Harry for those interested.
I really liked this issue. It was nice set-up for the next few stories to come. One thing I liked was that it setup what happened to Harry after RtAI, and it also clued us into what he's been up to lately. I feel bad for the guy, but at least he can still give people rides on his sand worm and he's highly regarded by Helmut. Also, great to get some background info on Vector, and to see Mighty get a smidge of spotlight here.
The art was great in this issue, Tracy! did a fine job again. I give him extra kudos for his work on the Harry section of the story, he did an excellent job of depicting everything there. My only complaint is similar to what Tigsie mentioned, a few pages (particularly the two she mentioned) came out looking a tad pixelated. It doesn't ruin the story or art, but it was a bit surprising to see.
On another note, someone asked if the Downunda FFs show up, and they don't. If I had to guess, they won't show up until SU #11 (if the solicit is right). And I'm guessing that the Winged-Dingoes are under the Platypus DEL's control. |

Wow, Harry looks really cool with that cloak.
Its also neat that we get to see the winged dingoes again.
I'm hoping the downundas appear next issue in time to help out Ray and Vector. |

Yeah I had that on the page where it shows Harry talking to Locke. I was kinda disappointed with the bluuriness, as well as the fact one of my pages is all bent near the centre, and wasn't stapled in right.
Also, I was going to say the robot hordes might have been Wing Dingoes, but they look quite a bit different under Yardley's pencil if that is the case. _________________

I have one question for Ian about the My Sonic Universe question about Ray.
While the question was answered as far as the comic is conserned, why was there no mention of the SEGASONIC arcade?

I just chalked it up to the occasional goof-up with the printing, Heck I rather have some slight blurr, than a Big Ugly Yellow "stains" on several pages of the book. _________________ http://excelhedge.deviantart.com http://excelhedge.sheezyart.com/ http://www.furaffinity.net/user/excelhedge/

| I don't know where to put this, but I hope the next four issue arc after Knuckles is about Tails?! I mean we've seen Shadow and Sonic's. |

Well, things certainly seem interesting. I do hope the Nocturnus end up in the comics; it'd be nice to see some game villains added to the Rogues' gallery.
Biggest question I have: where are Saffron and Charmy? Obviously Vector and Ray have been captured, while Knuckles, Julie-Su, and Mighty are after Finitevus, and Espio is with the Shinobi Clan, but where are the Bees? _________________ You wish you were man enough to wear a kilt!
Yeah, I'm insane. What's your excuse?

I think because whoever answered the question thought the person was asking only about the comic. That, and they had only a little bit of space to answer the question and wanted to at least mention his first appearance in the comic, especially because he should have a bigger role than he normally does in this arc.

They do look sleeker, so they might be a newer model to go with the new Platypus DEL. Either way, they seem to be some form/model of the Winged Dingo 'bots.

They might be on a break somewhere. It all depends, we might learn in the next issue. |

My favorite part of this issue was the opportunity to see Knuckles's historian/archeologist/treasure-hunter skills on display. Knuckles is usually remembered as a hot-head and a brawler, as the cover aptly demonstrates. It's nice to be reminded that he's multi-faceted and has other sides to his personality. It adds depth to his character.
Everyone has their hobbies. I think it's interesting that Knuckles's hobbies are so musty and esoteric and... well, intellectual, frankly. He reminds me of college academic talking about his own obscure and highly-specialized field of study. Julie-Su and Mighty are impressed by the depth of his knowledge, but they don't really understand why he finds this stuff so fascinating. To Knuckles, though, the archeological mystery is fascinating..
The cliff-hanger ending promises plenty of excitement for next issue, but it was nice to spend some time with this brainier and more contemplative side of our "Man of Action."
The best line of the issue probably has to go to Mighty for "Knock-knock" (Context is everything), but my personal favorite is when Knuckles stops to tell the mysterious pyramid "I'm not through with you," just before Julie-Su and Mighty drag him away. |

Just to rail it off am miss the entire point of the scan, do I sense a little...foreshadowing? I mean, with Espio telling Knuckles all about how to free him in Sonic #204 and now Vector getting rather enraged when he's mentioned, do you think that there might be something involving Espio and the Chaotix guys in the future? Maybe not SU, but still...? |

That was kind of obvious from the moment Espio went rogue. It's only a matter of time before the full Chaotix face there comrade in arms, so it should be interesting to see what happens. _________________ "We call ourselves the Q, or thou mayst call me that." -Encounter at Farpoint, Q

Nah, you didn't miss the complete point, that was one of the reasons I chose that scan (even though I didn't say it when I posted it). Anyway, yes, that was one of the things I think we could have expected the moment Espio left. He'll eventually have to fight Knux and the Chaotix again, and I think that there will be varying reactions amongst the Chaotix when that day comes again. In particular I'd be curious to see Charmy's reaction, as he and Espio have been shown to be fairly close. I'd also be interested in seeing if/how the Bride of Constant Vigil might react to the situation (if she was made fully aware of it). |

My comic also had a few pixelated pages, but it was not that noticeable(well not in my copy anyway). _________________ Attention people! Cranky Kong is the original Donkey Kong from the arcade games. |
