The US Fans? Only the die-hards know about StC, and that's an awfully small part of the market.

The UK Fans? They already have to jump through hoops to get the US comic, and StC (StC-O notwithstanding) has been defunct for years.

So, really, it would be a lot of legal brou-ha-ha for copyrights, distribution rights, and different branches of SEGA just to do a story that would cater to a very small part of the fandom.

I'm all for doing projects that are "fun" over "practical," but I'm afraid this is just one of those scenarios where it can't be worked out.

A shame, too. Ian-Sonic and Nigel-Sonic interacting would be fascinating.

Fake Edit: And because I know someone, somewhere will take offense to the "die-hards" comment...

The online fandom is a different beast than the rest of the readership. It's very vocal, it's very active, but it's only a part of the whole. In all the fan mail, both written and email, that I've gone through over the last five years, I've only seen one letter asking about StC material. I usually see one or two asking about Sonic Underground per batch. So there you go.

Yeah but Ian's Sonic would be wisecracking all the while.

I could so see Archie Sonic getting on Fleetway Sonic's nerves like 03 Raph to the 80's Turtles.

Only if he still had a book to be published in. OH SNAP!

Serious fan/nerd speculation - Archie-Super Sonic vs. Fleetway-Super Sonic. I'm inclined to say the Brits win that one.

Johnny Lightfoot and Porker Lewis are Sega owned characters, just as much as Sally Acorn (westernised versions of Pocky, Picky and Ricky, respectively). Even when Richard Elson gave them jeans and leather jackets the idea came from very early concept art for the Saturday morning cartoon*. I'd be surprised if you weren't allowed to use the two of them in the comic at the very least, should you ever feel the want to. I'm still surprised you got the Sonic band in as minor recurring characters!

no question about that, Fleetway Super Sonic is like the scariest dude around.

A better battle would be Fleetway Super Sonic vs. Archie Dark Mobius Enerjak. Enerjak defeated Super Sonic, but I love to see a situation where he fought Fleetways' overpowered Super Sonic instead. The outcome may have ended differently.

How about STC Sonic going super with the Archie emeralds, and Archie Sonic going super with the evil filled STC emeralds?

Fleetway Sonic doesn't use the Chaos Emeralds to go Super. He just does it sometimes, whenever he gets too angry, afraid, or empowered with Chaos Energy.

Its from an earlier planned Sonic cartoon that I believe became Satam. More pictures here http://archive.sonichq.net/newsite/cartoon/before/.

A shame there's so much legal tape, the story would be good fan service for something like an anniversary issue or a free comic book day story. Not to mention the old days of the 48 page specials.
Time to build you a better cartoon show. Saturday nights from 11:30-6.

Basically Fleetway Sonic's dimension is blocked because the way to it (in the cosmic highway) was destroyed by Dr. Nega.

Can someone provide a link to that? I would very much like to see it. :D

I have a US PSN, but I chose the UK Portable ID because I liked it better. Also, check out my comic series, Spirit Legends, and my DeviantArt, which also has my comic on it!

Too bad you guys can't be commissioned for a script or something, and let some people from Emerald Coast Comics or Sonic the Comic Online handle the art/"publishing" side. Then it would be directly by, for, and to those very fans who would want to see such a thing.

Prediction: Neither can destroy the other.

They end up ravaging ENTIRE UNIVERSES in their battle, until the Zone Cops have to get involved.

...Zilver and Silver team up to defeat them!

Because we all know that while the Zone Cops are omnipresent, they are far from omnipotent. Unable to handle just a single mad man, after all.

Speaking of, random question - did Dark ENerjak just conquer his world, or his entire universe? He said he wanted to conquer other Zones, but it sounded like he hadn't built an empire in his own universe yet...and even with his god powers, that would take a LONG time to accomplish due to the scale of it all.
