The US Fans? Only the die-hards know about StC, and that's an awfully small part of the market.
The UK Fans? They already have to jump through hoops to get the US comic, and StC (StC-O notwithstanding) has been defunct for years.
So, really, it would be a lot of legal brou-ha-ha for copyrights, distribution rights, and different branches of SEGA just to do a story that would cater to a very small part of the fandom.
I'm all for doing projects that are "fun" over "practical," but I'm afraid this is just one of those scenarios where it can't be worked out.
A shame, too. Ian-Sonic and Nigel-Sonic interacting would be fascinating.
Fake Edit: And because I know someone, somewhere will take offense to the "die-hards" comment...
The online fandom is a different beast than the rest of the readership. It's very vocal, it's very active, but it's only a part of the whole. In all the fan mail, both written and email, that I've gone through over the last five years, I've only seen one letter asking about StC material. I usually see one or two asking about Sonic Underground per batch. So there you go.
My Sonic would kick your Sonic's butt.
