1)In the Sonic and Knuckles special, during some wierd storm on the Island, Knux saved a little kangaroo/wallaby boy. While they were in a tree, a herd of dingoes ran by. Knux said not to worry, that they were peaceful. This whole idea seemed to be thrown out the window in the Knux mini. I think someone went so far as to say dingoes had not been seen on the island since the HZP was activated. So... how would you explain this? Different breeds of dingoes or something...?

Stryker and co. So, er...what were they, and do they have anything to do with Harry, who always resented the military?
There is no canonical answer for that. It would appear the Dingoes were a far-reaching idea for Ken Penders and their appearance in the "Sonic & Knuckles" was a hint of things to come. For fun, we can claim they're a rag-tag band of deserters that will have joined-up with their brethren when we next see the Dingoes.

Can everyone just up and do special stages now?

I consider most robots exempt from that rule since they aren't really alive and are easily replicated. A couple of notable exceptions would be the Metal Sonic that sacrificed itself to rescue Sonic and Tails from the volcano, and E-123 Gamma (presuming he's dead in the Archie canon).
Where are Hershey and St. John? Don't think they've been seen since #134, when they were going on their top secret honeymoon mission for the king. Given that there's a new king and a new city, don't you think they should come back? Plus, I was looking through the older comics and realized how much I missed St. John's rivalry with Sonic. It's more complex and difficult than simple anger at an enemy. Although if they're not warring over Sally such a rivalry might be difficult to revive...

Power Rings (http://www.wizard-alcove.net/) is in the middle of a story where they make fun of the direction you've gone with the series. Now obviously, being a parody comic, they're taking the ideas to extremes, but what is your defense for cutting down on backstory and focusing more on action? I know that you always want to try and cater to new readers, but I think some of the comments in the latest issues which hearken back to Knuckles #7-9 prove you want to keep it old school as well. I personally would still like to see some more "history mysteries" like Isaac.
