Should Nic the weasel come back?

Do you want to see Nic the weasel return to the book?
I do. I think that Nic's an interesting character. There are signs that she might have some good in her. Like when she's willing to destroy the gem that she wanted, to free Ray.

I have 2 reasons why I want to Nic return.
*First, I want to see her Redesign that Ian hinted about a few months ago.
*Second, thanks to a post from Ian Today we know that he has a solid story for her.

I want to see both of those. Otherwise I have the following reasons as to why she should not appear in the book again.

*She is redundant. Seriously we have Fiona for the role of Femme Fatale and she currently share's that role, admittedly on the opposite side of the coin, with Rouge.
*She's Nack with breasts. There really isn't a way around that fact. She makes most of the Echidna, key word being most, designs extremely well thought and unique as opposed to Knuckles in silly or ordinary clothing with a recolor.
*Her personality is Nack. Seriously, read her only major appearance and swap the dialogue between Nic and Nack. You'll notice that it would seem that Nack is talking to himself.
*We already have Nack for a hired gun. And before anyone points out the Destructix are also a hired gun there is a difference between the two. The Destructix seem to have some sort of moral code, mind you it is a code that only they ascribe to and everyone else would be scratching their heads at but it is a code nonetheless. Nack would probably shoot his own mother, if he hasn't already, if someone were to pay him to do it.

That's why I love Nack. He's... a pretty dark character for this book. He's literally attempted to kill people a few times. The stigma of the situation is also darkened with how he uses a real gun to do it, something that isn't commonplace in Sonic. The Destructix, Bean and Bark, even Fiona and Scourge have varying shades of gray in them. Not really Nack, he really seems sadistic and its nice having him around for that.

Anyway I realize that has nothing to do with Nic, but I expressed my feelings in the #219 thread so you can just read it there.

*Seriously, read anything Ken Penders writes and swap the dialogue between any of the characters. You'll notice that it would seem that they are talking to themselves.

And let me quickly add I loved most of Ken's work. His Sonic and Sally were classic. This is just--if may say--clever satire.

Well, it's been long enough Nic's personality can be treaked. At least Nick and Nic don't like each other and would play off each other well under Ian. Heck for some reason I seem to think Nic is slightly better at what she does then Nack what seems to be the root of thier fighting. Maybe because she comes off as more perpared then Nack is when she's doing a job. I remember when Nic and Nack first met in the comic she was the one leading Nack along.

Giving the Nack is supposed to be half wolf I's like to see his famly and back ground exspored. Especially his parents,

Honestly if that is literally the only interesting thing she's done, it's just an indicator of how useless and redundant she is. Her entire character defining moment, her apex, is shooting Ray's gem? Even one-shot characters get more interesting gimmicks than that. And THAT was completely invalidated by her appearance with her superior brother anyway, since she was just as calculating and heartless. I love it when Nack appears, but Nic can just hang out in limbo forever.

This poll seriously needs a ONLY IF SOMETHING VALID AND INTERESTING CAN BE DONE WITH HER option because otherwise she ain't got nothing else going on but a hefty supply of estrogen.

Nic is Nack with boobies. That's it.

She has NOTHING else to her.

The fact that she was passed off as an "original character" in and of itself is insulting.

She is "I PUT MY AWESOME FAN CHARACTER ON DEVIANT ART LOOK AT ME I'M SO CLEVER" bad.

She is literally one of the laziest characters created in the book in concept, design and execution. She is gender swap of a far more interesting, far more established, far better handled character and nothing more.

The fact that she rides around in a MILLENIUM FALCON makes her even LESS interesting because ITS A FREAKING MILLENIUM FALCON. How unoriginal are you when not only are you a boob expy - you're a boob expy that bites off of Star Wars because your creators couldn't be arsed to try a little harder and they just thought it looked cool with no thought to it beyond that? Seriously?

No - Nic is one of those rare characters in the book that needs a complete overhaul to even be worth paying attention to. She is the Sir Connery of lameness. Heck, I'd go as far as to say the only other character who edges her out in the "WHY ARE YOU HERE THIS IS DUMB" category might be Mobie. And Mobie probably wins because you take one good look at him and you see he's one great gigantic "WHAT".

We don't need female Nack, because we have Nack. That'd be like introducing Amy's male cousin Arnie Rose who is totally stalker gay for Sonic and looks exactly like Amy except the spikes go up and he doesn't have boobs so instead he wears red and white hot pants with a tank top. Just... NO.

Even a good design can't save a crappy character and Nic would need a heck of a lot more going for her than "I just wanna see Axer's design!" Print it in the back of a letter column and move on until you have a story, a completely new concept, and a set goal that makes her AND that design worth reading about. Until then leave her on whatever "Island of Misbegotten Characters" bus she was put on when Ian took over.

I don't entirely know how relevant it is to say this, but Ian is hardly the only writer to ignore Nic. Like a lot of characters, she was forgotten and left in obscurity long before he even came on board. EVERYONE ignored her because she had nothing going for her.

Well, the stuff Dub's said seem pretty true, One thing I kind of don't have an issue with is having Nic be a Bounty Hunter/Mercenary it seems that judging form the other weasels thier tribe seems to be made up of hired thugs.

Rouge is essentially Nic's replacement, isn't she? There's little need to keep Nic around since she doesn't contribute much these days.

There needs to be a meh option in the poll cuz that's how I feel. If Ian, Tracy, or one of their decades-away successors, can bring her back in an interesting, or really uninteresting wouldn't bother me, manner than great, but if she's never heard from again, then it wouldn't be any skin off my nose.

Kill her! It seems like she was supposed to be a female Nack from the very start. I don't think a wardrobe change would do her any good, and changing her personality would make her a different character and not Nic.
